 Dear Ronnee:This is a “thank you” letter, but I don’t even know where to begin to thank you. It’s a huge category. Every day for the past two years, I have included you in my morning meditation thank you prayers. I’m still thanking you. Probably will for a long time to come. You have filled so many roles; care manager, surrogate daughter (which makes you my surrogate sister), friend (a very well connected one, at that), “fix-it” manager, trusted advisor, role model. We’ll leave the list open ended because I might have left something out.
You have given my family 100% plus and it’s difficult to find the words to express our appreciation. It’s making me cry, trying to write this letter to you. Emotionally, you are inextricably tied to thoughts of my mother. You knew her so well, even though you only appeared on the scene in the last two years. Your professionalism, your experience, your insights, your genuine concern, all added up to an enhanced quality of life for her, for which I will forever be grateful.
Pure and simple, I just like your style – smart, direct, honest, creative, great sense of humor, fun to be with, multitude of interests, deep caring and respect for others, family minded – again, I probably left something out.
I also want to thank you for the turkey platter that you and Bob sent to the house and the checking-in phone calls you made even during your vacation. You never miss a beat.
Please extend my thanks to Lois and Maria and the rest of your staff for their help. And, of course, to Bob. Inviting my Mom to your home on several family occasions and to my brother and me on Passover, allowed us to feel like a part of your family. That was a special night for us. It came at the exact right time. As I told you that night, I needed it and didn’t realize how much until I got there. It was a replay of a million past memories of similar family dinners at my own house over the years. It was wonderful.
So, my friend, I want you to know that you have made a positive difference in the life of the **** family and because of that, I will carry you in a special place, tucked away safely in my heart.
